Cape Porpoise is a small coastal village in the town of Kennebunkport, Maine. It was the first European settlement of the area and was named by explorer, Captain John Smith in 1614, during a time when English fishermen frequented the area. Cape Porpoise became an established settlement in 1629. It continues to be an active fishing village.
